if you live in st. louis it’s easy to guess which wine bar i work at, here is my ranking of the current menu

1. Bêl - white wine, Czech republic, notes of sour patch kids 😝😝 i tried it last night and bought a bottle to bring home it’s that serious

2. l’onesta lambrusco - dry red sparkling italy, kind of what they’re known for and it’s soo insanely good it’s very special to me

3. Ouest - rosé by Division, from oregon, the most flavorful rosé i’ve ever had it’s fire

4. Le Cigare- Bonny doon orange wine, very agreeable

5. Chenin - by Field Recordings, very solid white wine

6. Dolcetto - by Libertine, nice rosé with a beautiful bottle. when i write my list for stocking from the wine cellar this one is called “God”

7. Fuso Cala, another solid orange wine but it’s about to be replaced with something else

8. vino verde (house white) and punctum pét-nat (house rosé) tied for 8th

do not order:

field recordings Boxie (house orange)- it’s boxed wine but the entire supply is oxidized right now inexplicably……..we keep having the wine distributors sample it and confirm that it’s fucked beyond belief but people still order it and no one complains. people assume it’s just supposed to taste like that lol but it’s really gross rn. also don’t order the house red there’s nothing wrong with it it’s just underwhelming and there’s at least 10 better options

honorable mentions:

bavik: belgian beer on tap, so good

also narrow gauge OJ run ipa…i’m not really an IPA person but this one is phenomenal

side project saison de blé: local stl brewery sour on tap, really freaking sour. one time an old lady ordered it and i got scared for her and we ended up getting her something else. but if that’s your bag then go for it

best cocktail is strawberry sake spritz, then the ranch water, then the mezcal sour

shot recommendation: Damiana (google bottle)
