i totally agree with your take, esther is indeed 19! so she should be played by an actual young person. i edit my previous statement and i think if it has to be a celebrity my choice would be hunter schaefer. or renate reinsve just because she could play any character and i'd be gagged. let her be norwegian in it too it really don't matter to me

wtf about the east of eden adaptation i didn't even know this was happening...apparently it's directed by the granddaughter of the guy who made the original movie (she is also paul dano's wife) which is interesting to me. ppl on reddit say the movie isn't great if you're a fan of the book bc it starts in the final 25% of the story and expects you to just know all the stuff that happened before. it's more a movie about james dean being james dean than anything else is my understanding? but the refrigeration part makes it in LOL thank god. florence pugh would be a good cathy ames bc her eyes are indeed far apart, an actually crucial part of her character. i have lowkey facial blindness so character descriptions don't really do much for me but i could actually visualize her so well and florence is close enough to that image. if our podcast blows up then people will probably want us to talk about the new series so be ready for that potentially
